Turkana Food Inc. of Kenilworth, NJ, is recalling 352 cases of Floria Dried Apricots because the product contains undeclared sulfites on the package label.
The recalled Floria Dried Apricots were distributed in the states of FL, KY, VA, NY, NJ, TN, MA, TX, IL, IN, MI, RI, PA, NC, MD, OH, AL, MO, and CA. The affected product is packaged in 200-gram paper packaging labeled Floria Dried Apricots.
The product's lot number 440090478-15-333 can be found on the bottom portion of the package. The UPC 2539560010 is marked by a sticker on the top side of the package. The expiration date is 11/2026, also located on the bottom of the package.
No illnesses have been reported as of June 12, 2025.
The recall resulted from routine sampling performed by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, which revealed the presence of sulfites not declared on the product labeling. Turkana Food Inc. has ceased production and distribution of the affected product while the FDA and the company continue investigating and working with the manufacturer to correct the issue.
Consumers who purchased Floria Dried Apricots with lot code 440090478-15-333 should not consume the product and are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
